The West Cornwall Farmers’ Market Project is an innovative scheme directly targeting support to farming families throughout West Cornwall. It has been set up to increase small producers’ ability to sell food directly to local people. The project has been made possible by a grant from West Cornwall Local Action part of the Rural Development Programme for England, funded by the EU and Defra, and managed by the South West RDA. The idea for the scheme came directly from farmers and produce markets working in partnership to grow small food based businesses by developing farmers’ markets in the area.
