ST IVES FARMERS' MARKET
Every Thursday
9.30am to 2pm
St Ives Backpackers, Lower Stennack, St Ives, TR26 1SG.
St Ives is one of Cornwall's most popular seaside towns. Its' beautiful beaches, picturesque harbour and quirky shopping streets draw tourists, artists and locals to the town throughout the year. St Ives early fortunes were built on fishing and tin mining, but it later became famed for a number of renowned artists making the town their home. Its reputation as an artistic centre was cemented in 1993 with the opening of Tate St Ives. A fabulous array of galleries, studios, shops, cafés and bars continue to make St Ives a 'must visit' destination for any visitor to West Cornwall.
St Ives Farmers' Market was started in April 2008 by GULP (Great tasting Unbeatable Local Produce) - a community group working to make local food accessible to people living in St Ives. The market is held every Thursday in the centre of the town making it easy to reach for locals and tourists alike with car parking just a short walk away. Whether you're planning a family meal or food for a beach picnic, there's always a great selection of fresh, local produce to choose from.
“The market has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can find a great range of fresh produce to meet mostly weekly shopping needs.”
Tim Andrews, Market organizer.
