PENDEEN FARMERS' MARKET
First and Third Saturday every month
10 am – 1 pm
The Centre of Pendeen, Pendeen TR19 7SE
At the heart of a World Heritage Site in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the rugged coast of West Penwith, Pendeen is a traditional Cornish mining village with a long and sometimes notorious history! Geevor Mine (now a museum) is its most famous site, while nearby Levant Engine House has been lovingly restored to working condition. The surrounding country - noted for its spectacular granite cliffs and high moors inland is rich in ancient stone circles, holy wells and fugues.
Pendeen Farmer’s Market opened for business at the newly built Centre of Pendeen in July 2008. This bustling market has a real community feel about it and is a friendly place to stop for a coffee on a Saturday morning, to meet friends and catch up with the gossip. The first market in December features craft stalls as well as food producers for those last-minute Christmas presents.
“Locals say the Pendeen area is the ‘real Cornwall’ - rugged and wildly beautiful – and our many regular customers turn out in all weather in support of the market. The stallholders take pride in offering the very freshest local produce – often the vegetables, fruit or eggs have been picked or collected the morning of the market.”
